We've just been on the radio!

Jack and I have just been chatting with BBC Radio Somerset about our cycling adventures and fundraising! I didn't have my fundraising link to hand, but here it is:

Got myself a training partner!

My new training partner:

Our oldest boy, Jack (6) has decided that he would also like to cycle 200 miles during the summer holidays to raise money for Yeovil Hospital Charity.

So this weekend I have been cycling at a lovely sedate pace around Yeovil and out to Chilthorne to visit the in-laws. Not sure if it's beneficial training to my own solo 200 in 3 weeks, but enjoyable nonetheless.

We often take Henry along in the bike seat too so that must be good for strength training! He loves to nap in that seat! Here's a photo of us sheltering from today's rain

Smashed the target

There has been quite a flurry of donations over the past few days and I have smashed my £500 target! Thanks everyone!

Our oldest son, Jack (6) has now decided he wants to cycle 200 miles during the summer holidays! Also raising money for Yeovil Hospital Charity! What a little legend!

OK, confirmed=200 miles in one day

Hi All,

I'm talking to you as if you're reading this, knowing full well that nobody is yet because I haven't published it!

Anyways, now that my plans have been finalised, I will publish it and you can read my ramblings.

The plan is set - 200 miles, on my own, on my bike, on August 16th 2020.

The route will be from Yeovil, out to Sparkford, West Pennard up towards Wookey and then turn out West towards "The Levels" where I will loop around a 20 mile section several times starting and finishing at Sweet's Tea Rooms.  Once I have completed this section (and after a good feed) I will continue south through Ashcott, Burrow Bridge, North Curry etc before finally turning east at Hatch Beauchamp and head back to Yeovil.

Thanks should be given at this point to Martin Wills for his excellent route planning skills which I have 'pinched'!

If anyone would like to join me on the road and give me a tow, you know where I will be for 14-16 hours on Sunday 16th August!

Cheers,
George

A Double Century?!

So, I've had an idea...

It might be a daft idea, but only time will tell...

I've decided to do the two 100 milers, back-to-back, on the same day...

Off to research new knees now...
